About this tool
Place a typed signature or signature image on a PDF, move it to the signature line, set its size, and download the signed copy.
The PDF and signature image stay in the browser. See the linked signature guide for information about signature types and common requirements.
How to use it
- Upload the PDF that needs signing.
- Use the page buttons to bring the page with the signature line into focus.
- Type your signature or upload a signature image (PNG with a transparent background works best).
- Drag the signature onto the line and change its width until it sits naturally.
- Download the signed PDF.
Tips
- For a realistic signature image: sign white paper with a dark pen, photograph it straight-on in good light, and make the background transparent with the background remover; otherwise a white box rides along with your signature.
- Sign at a natural size. An oversized signature is the most common giveaway of a rushed e-signature; match the space the form gives you.
- Signing multiple documents? The signature stays loaded, so you can process a stack in one sitting.
FAQs
Is a signature added this way legally valid?
Typed and image signatures may qualify as simple electronic signatures. Validity and evidence requirements depend on the document and jurisdiction. Ask the receiving party or a qualified legal professional when the requirement matters.
Why does my signature image have a white rectangle around it?
The image was saved in a format without transparency (like JPG). Recreate it as a transparent PNG; our transparency guide below explains the details.
Can I sign on more than one page?
Yes. Place a signature on a page, move to the next with the page buttons, and place another before downloading once.
Does the signed PDF look different from the original?
Only where the signature was added. The pages themselves are preserved, not re-rendered.
Is my contract uploaded when I sign it here?
No. The document and signature are combined inside your browser and never transmitted.
